I would like to talk about the third place in this infographic, Turkish airlines with their video “5 senses with Dr. Oz”, because it is one the videos that went viral in 2018 on YouTube and was the most clicked advertisement video on YouTube in 2018. Every stereotypical user of YouTube or any social media platform hates one thing and that is advertisements. That’s why seeing an advertisement going viral impressed me a lot. I watched the video a couple of times and I don’t really know why, but I get goosebumps every time I see it.
The video is 90 seconds long and I enjoyed every moment of it. You feel like watching a movie about the different places on earth, that you can visit with Turkish airlines. But, the most important thing is “Dr. Oz”, who explains you the 5 senses in combination with the places you could visit. You almost feel like you can smell the places in the video and you realize you want to visit them.
This might sound really stupid but you fell like you want to smell these places and taste their foods, while listening to the people and atmosphere wherever you are. Seeing and hearing these places becomes a desire for you and I would just like to buy a ticket and go wherever Turkish Airlines goes. You mind wants to feel, smell, listen, touch, taste all of these things in the video.
I choose this video and not the other one with Messi and Kobe Bryant, because I think this Advertising campaign had much more success, because people watched it, because it was just beautiful and not because the two most popular players of the two most popular sports on the world were in it.
In the end, I would highly recommend watching that video, “5 senses with Dr. Oz”, because it has an effect on you and isn’t just entertaining you or funny. This might be one of the most effective advertisements I have ever seen and although it is only third placed in the most successful airline promotional videos in terms of views, I think it had the most impact and was the biggest success in terms of convincing people to travel with Turkish airlines.
